Redevelopment Karrenstall Kantonsschule Wettingen
The Karrenstall building at Klosterstrasse 20 is on the west side of the former Cistercian monastery, a little away from Klosterstrasse. The historic building was built at the beginning of the 17th century. The cart stall has been empty since 2007 and was saved with emergency measures in 2019. Now the Karrenstall will be used as a music store for the Wettingen Cantonal School. For this purpose, a new stair core was built into the existing structure as a single element. Attached to this new development are two large music halls. The renovation focuses on the existing building. All interventions affect the existing walls as little as possible and with many raw elements the materialization approaches the mural identity of the cart stall. Special attention was paid to the selection of the right lighting.
Aare Limmat Elektro AG was commissioned to carry out the entire electrical installation. The entire electrical installation was newly created and corresponds to the current state of the art.
